Self-Hypnosis And Relaxation
July 24th, 2007    Subscribe To Our FeedRelaxation is an essential part of the hypnosis induction process, so in self-hypnosis, the it’s important that you begin with relaxation exercises to completely relax physically.
Using a body scan to relax as part of a hypnosis induction
One of the easiest ways to relax completely is to use a body scan. Focus your attention on each part of your body in turn. You can start at your toes, and finish with your scalp, or start at your scalp, and finish with your toes.
A complete body scan should take you around five to ten minutes, so go slowly, and mentally tell that body part to relax.
When you feel completely relaxed - your body feels heavy, and you don’t want to move - begin a relaxation visualization.
Imagine that you’re lying on a tropical beach, with the sun beaming down on you, and a soft breeze playing over your body…
Now you’re ready to give yourself the suggestions that you’ve prepared earlier. If necessary, you can read them from a sheet of paper. Just open your eyes and read. You could give yourself the suggestion: “even though I am opening my eyes and reading, I remain in a state of hypnosis, and my mind absorbs the suggestions I give myself.”

Hypnosis Sample - trying out hypnosis
July 16th, 2007    Subscribe To Our FeedWant to try hypnosis? Some hypnosis practitioners will give you a “sample” hypnosis session - really just a hypnosis induction, to let you experience the treatment before you decide whether hypnosis is right for you.
Many people work with a hypnotist to change their behaviors. These people spend some time getting to know the procedures and techniques used by these professionals. The hypnotist has to have a good working relationship with a client in order to help them modify unwanted behaviors. The next steps can take a variety of paths. Sometimes people want to continue for many sessions with the hypnotist. Other people do not have the funds or time to have multiple sessions. The people after the initial sessions can learn to use methods to hypnotize themselves. They can also use hypnosis scripts to help them continue the techniques of hypnosis. There are hypnosis samples of some of the techniques for achieving better behavior.
A hypnosis sample can give a clear idea of what hypnosis covers. If you’re at all nervous about hypnosis, then a sample session can set your mind at ease. You’ll have chatted with the hypnotherapist about the behaviors that you want to change, and the trial session will let you experience what a session is like.
Chances are that you’ll enjoy the session so much that you’ll be eager to repeat it.

Hypnosis induction: it’s really just relaxation
July 16th, 2007    Subscribe To Our Feed“Hypnosis induction” sounds complication. However it’s simply involves you (or the person undergoing hypnosis) becoming completely physically relaxed, and following a single train of thought. The hypnotherapist guides you, so there’s nothing you need to do, you simply allow it to happen.
Induction methods include visualization and arm-levitation methods and many others. Each hypnotherapist has his or her own preferred method.
Hypnosis is always quite a pleasant state to be in, because of the relaxation of induction. For many people, it’s the first time they’ve relaxed in years. If you’re practicing self-hypnosis, you may want to sit up while you do it, because you can become so relaxed that you fall asleep if you lie down.
A hypnotherapy session involved three phases: the induction, the suggestion phase, and finally the return to normal waking consciousness.
For example, if you’re undergoing hypnosis to lose weight, the induction might consist of several minutes of your hypnotherapist leading you through an induction of relaxing all the various parts of your body, and visualizing a scene of a beach, and your total relaxation in this particular scene.
The induction is over as soon as the hypnotherapist is confident that you’re completely relaxed, and open to suggestions.

Hypnosis scripts: what are they?
June 29th, 2007    Subscribe To Our FeedHypnosis scripts are texts that someone can read to you to hypnotize you, or you can read to someone else, or even yourself, if you want to give yourself suggestions.
You can write the scripts yourself if you wish; they’re easy to create. Indeed the scripts you create for yourself may be the best ones to use for self-hypnosis, because you know what you want to achieve with hypnosis.
The three parts of a hypnosis script
A hypnosis script consists of three parts: the induction, suggestions, and a return to normal waking consciousness.
The induction relaxes the subject, and prepares him to receive the suggestions. If you’re working with someone who is new to hypnosis, you may want to include a longer induction. If you’re experienced in self-hypnosis and are writing a script for yourself, the induction can be very short.
The suggestion phase of the script is the part where you plant the suggestions to which the person will respond later. You can add an anchor here - some bodily movement which will help the person to achieve a mind state. Planting anchors is useful if your aim is to help someone to overcome an addiction like smoking.
Finally, the return phase of the script wraps up the session, returns the subject to waking consciousness, and includes a suggestion that the subjection will feel great.

Easy Self-Hypnosis: Lose Weight, Gain Confidence
June 3rd, 2007    Subscribe To Our FeedWhat if you could close your eyes and relax, just twice a day, and find that you started to lose weight? If it sounds magical, it’s not. You can lose weight with self-hypnosis, and self-hypnosis is a skill that most people can learn very easily.
There’s nothing complicated about self-hypnosis. It’s just a mind state that you’re already very familiar with, because you slip into this state naturally, whenever you concentrate on something. Your focus of concentration could be a movie, another person, an event, or a task. You’re in this state many times a day.
When you want to use self-hypnosis to lose weight, you induce a light hypnotic trance, and give yourself suggestions. Because you’re in this state of focused attention, your subconscious mind accepts the suggestions. Since your subconscious mind is very powerful, you will begin to act out the suggestions you’ve given yourself.
Suddenly, Your Taste For Fast-Food Vanishes, And You Begin To Exercise
Think of self-hypnosis as if you’re programming a computer. The computer is you, and the suggestions you give yourself in self-hypnosis are the program. You’ll begin to act out your own suggestions. If you suggested to yourself that you eat healthy food and enjoy daily walks, you will find that you lose interest in fast food, and that you feel like walking every day.
There’s no effort needed: you just follow your own desires - the suggestions that you gave yourself.
Have A Hypnosis Session With A Professional Hypnotherapist First
Although self-hypnosis is easy, it’s natural to wonder whether you’re “really hypnotized” when you do it yourself. So have a session with a professional first, so you know how hypnosis feels. The hypnotherapist can teach you some easy self-induction techniques. Most people learn to use self-hypnosis successfully with just a session or two.
Once you’ve learned the skill of self-hypnosis, you can use it in many ways for self-improvement, to develop better relationships, and even to improve your finances.
