Your First Hypnosis Session
June 19th, 2007    Subscribe To Our FeedHypnosis has become a popular therapy. A big improvement on what it was thought of in the past. Many people still have the concept that a hypnosis session involves a gold watch, a couch and a therapist with a skinny black mustache. None of those are a reality of a modern hypnosis session.
Here’s what happens
Hypnosis can assist in a variety of areas in a person’s life. A hypnosis session is not about giving the hypnotherapist complete control of a person. In fact, hypnosis can not make a person do anything against their will. Hypnosis is used to help a person get in touch with their true goals. Athletes will use a hypnosis session in order to completely focus on an upcoming sporting event. This helps the athlete connect their goal, their mind and their body; so that the goal is possible.
A hypnosis session can leave a person feeling very alert and energetic. A session is used to get in touch with the subconscious mind, and to assist in getting rid of negative thoughts and emotions. As a result of that, at the end of a hypnosis session, many feel up-lifted and ready to move on.
Goals can be achieved through a hypnosis session. The goal needs to be discussed with a hypnotherapist. Some common goals are quitting smoking, loosing weight, overcoming phobias and many more alternatives are offered through a hypnosis session. Usually, these goals will take a few sessions in order to fully integrate new behaviors.
A hypnosis session can last anywhere from an hour to two hours. During the session, the hypnotherapist will use different means to help achieve the level of relaxation required for a successful hypnosis session. They may use something as traditional as a pendulum to watch, or just by using words can help delve into the subconscious mind. While clearing out negative behaviors, positive ones will be assigned. Suggestions about exercise may be made, or the suggestion that a cigarette no longer tastes good may be used. These suggestions help the patient work on their goal.
Costs for a hypnosis session vary from center to center. States also, may have regulations in regards to hypnotherapy. It is important to find out what your state requires, and find a clinic that follows those laws.
A hypnosis session can assist people in working towards their goals and make a difference in their lives.

The Law of Attraction and Hypnosis - are they related?
March 18th, 2007    Subscribe To Our FeedHypnosis is simply a form of focused attention. Whenever you pay close attention to something and tune out everything else, you’re hypnotized. This can happen when you’re staring at the computer screen, or watching a movie.
In addition, hypnosis is a technique used to guide a person’s subconscious mind to alter or remove negative feelings, behavior or beliefs.
But what does this have to do with “the law of attraction”?
The law of attraction is the idea that whatever a person is thinking or believing in their mind guides their actions, goals and gets results. The law of attraction and hypnosis are closely linked. The law of attraction is actually the basic idea behind hypnosis.
The Law of Attraction Explained
The law of attraction was defined by Dr. William James around the beginning of the twentieth century. It is a commonly held belief that the law of attraction exists and is true. It has been proven an innumerable amount of times because people show that the right attitude and mindset can help them achieve their goals. The same can be said for negative thinking causing negative things to happen. It works both ways. The law of attraction basically states that whatever you are thinking in your mind, you make a reality.
A Good Example: Smoking addiction
A good example that ties the law of attraction into hypnosis is a person that smokes and who wishes to quit smoking. By the law of attraction, if this person sets their mind to quit smoking he can do so. Hypnosis comes in to help the person get past the addiction. Smoking is a hard habit to quit. A smoker is addicted to the cigarettes both mentally and physically.
It takes strong will power to quit and quit for good. t is thought that quitting is very deeply routed in the mental addiction more than the physical addiction, so the extra help from hypnosis combined with the law of attraction equals them reaching their goal.
How the Law of Attraction and Hypnosis Work Together
By itself the law of attraction may seem able to do anything. However, people often do not understand that they must be thinking the same thing in their conscious and subconscious mind. Back to the example above, the smoker may feel like they really want to quit, but subconsciously their mind has not completely accepted the idea of quitting. Hypnosis gets to the subconscious mind and allows the person to fully have the drive to quit.
The law of attraction and hypnosis work together to ensure the mind is completely on board with what the goal is. Together they provide enough positive thinking to get the goal reached. A person can really benefit by using the two together to help them reach goals they may be having problems reaching.
The law of attraction has received a lot of buzz, being mentioned on Oprah, and talked about everywhere. However, it’s an old truth, dressed up for the new millennium.
