Ericksonian Hypnosis - indirect suggestions and story telling
July 2nd, 2007    Subscribe To Our FeedToday, a widely accepted means of hypnosis, called Ericksonian hypnosis, is used in many different applications.
In traditional hypnosis the hypnotherapist giving direct commands to a patient that is in a trance, or an extremely relaxed state of consciousness. These commands are said in a powerful manner. The Ericksonian hypnosis process can either use the trance state or by just story telling.
Milton Erickson was born in 1902 and grew up in a rural environment. Ericksonian hypnosis, was far from his mind as he went through his childhood. His education was not very advanced, and in fact he was color blind, dyslexic and tone deaf. Not the image of someone who would then create Ericksonian hypnosis, and become very well known.
When he was seventeen, he contracted polio. This left him paralyzed. His parents, doing the best they could, tied him to a chair during the day, and he was left in the house. As Milton was unable to move, he spent a lot of time watching people and their body language. He noticed the subtle nature of body language, and how sometimes we say no when our bodies say yes.
He began using visualization to picture himself outside playing. While using this extreme concentration, he noticed that he could move the chair he was sitting in. He also watched as his baby sister learned to walk, and imitated her motions, and began walking himself.
All of these beginnings helped him create the Ericksonian hypnosis process. This involves indirect suggestion, as opposed to the classic direct approach. When using the Ericksonian hypnosis process and story telling, a general theme is covered over and over in order for the subconscious mind to pick up the subtle message given.
Ericksonian hypnosis is in wide use today. There are many different methods and approached to this form of hypnosis. They can range from therapy where a trance state is induced and then indirect suggestions are then made, to the more subtle approach of a talk therapy program.
Ericksonian hypnosis seems to work for many people, that traditional hypnotherapy has been unable to help.

Discover Self-Hypnosis: End Weight Worry Forever
June 22nd, 2007    Subscribe To Our FeedAlthough self-hypnosis is easy to learn and to use, it’s a very powerful tool, especially if you want to lose weight.
As a weight loss tool, you can use self-hypnosis in two ways: firstly to discover what’s causing you to overeat. This is valuable knowledge. Secondly, to give yourself hypnotic suggestions which will help you to lose weight, such as that you’re in control of food, and that you’re highly motivated to lose weight.
You’re Hypnotized Every Day - So Take Control Now
Self-hypnosis is just autosuggestion (suggestions we give ourselves), and we all respond to suggestion. After all, we may have piled on our weight because we responded to suggestions from TV commercials, and tempting aromas wafting from a bakery, and from memories of the sensual pleasure of eating. It’s time to discover how to give yourself suggestions which will help you to lose weight.
You may be amazed when you realize that you’re hypnotized many times each day. For example, have you ever completed a task completely without thinking? Or lost yourself in a movie or book? You were hypnotized. Learning self-hypnosis just means discovering a method which allows you to consciously do what you do very well already.
Self-Hypnosis Is A Powerful Tool For Investigation And Accomplishing Weight Loss
Once you learn the basics of self-hypnosis, you’re in control of your weight. You’ll want to analyze your eating habits while you’re in a slight trance. This enables you to be non-judgmental, and to discover what’s driving your weight gain.
For example, let’s say that suddenly you realize that you’ve eaten an entire container of ice cream. Instead of being hard on yourself, imagine putting yourself in a slight trance and thinking about what led up to your eating binge. You may discover that you had a stressful day, and that you ate to calm yourself.
With this new knowledge, you can choose to get stress relief from another activity: perhaps calling a friend, going to a movie, or going for a walk. You can immediately instill this new behavior with self-hypnosis. Now the next time you have a hard day, you impulsively call a friend you’ve been meaning to call for weeks - this new behavior happens completely automatically, you don’t have to think about it, any more than you thought about reaching for the ice cream.
Intrigued about the potential of self-hypnosis to help you to lose weight? The best way to learn self-hypnosis is with the instruction of a hypnotherapist. Check your local phone book. Or, if you’re a do-it-yourself kind of person, you can learn self-hypnosis from tapes, CDs, DVDs, or books.

Hypnosis Therapy is drug free
June 22nd, 2007    Subscribe To Our FeedThe major benefit of hypnosis therapy is that it’s drug free. It’s also painless. Although it doesn’t work for everyone, it’s worth a try.
Forms of hypnosis therapy have been around for centuries. Many ancient cultures would use music and rhythm to create the environment for a hypnotic trance state. While very old, it has not always been an accepted means of therapy. Scientist have worked at trying to explain how hypnosis therapy works, and if it is a successful way to assist patients. Not everyone agrees, but hypnosis therapy has become a more mainstream choice for many people.
The first step, after deciding to use hypnosis therapy, is to locate a qualified hypnotherapist. Since states all have different laws regarding hypnosis therapy, take the time to discover what the laws are that should be enforced in regards to hypnosis therapy.
A hypnotherapist will explain the entire process to a prospective client. Sitting down with a hypnotherapist to determine what your goals are with hypnosis therapy, can help give a focus to the therapy. There are some patients who use this form of therapy to assist in getting past emotional and stressful events that have occurred. A hypnosis therapy session can help by getting into the subconscious mind and discovering exactly what happened to make this incident so traumatic. The hypnosis therapy session can then move on to help find ways to cope with the experience.
Hypnosis therapy can also help people deal with rage. The techniques used in hypnosis help a person learn how to deeply relax. These same tools can be used to teach patients a way to deal with rage. During a hypnosis therapy session, suggestions will be made to the unconscious mind. Triggers will be pointed out, and coping mechanisms will be taught to the mind. This in turn will become automatic responses when a situation arises that causes rage.
A similar approach is used in helping patients cope with other areas of concern. These can be issues along the lines of smoking, loosing weight, having problems speaking in front of people and many other issues in life. A hypnosis therapy session provides the inner self with the ability to change. Suggestions that help a patient change are made. These could be things like feeling the urge to snack on healthy foods instead of diet busting desserts. The suggestions are never something that would harm a patient, or that would offend the patients own moral code. Hypnosis therapy is used to help not harm patients.
Hypnosis therapy can be a very successful alternative treatment for many individuals.

From diabetes to heart disease, the many issues that arise from being overweight are a on the rise. As the problems continue to grow, so does the research into the causes of and treatments for obesity. One of the new and most exciting fields of obesity treatment is weight loss hypnosis. There are dozens of diet pills on the market right now. The problem with these pills is that as long as they contain no narcotics, they are beyond the scope and reach of the Food and Drug Administration. As such, there are no controls over what goes into the pills, and no testing has to be done before releasing them on the market. These pills can lead to a variety of problems, such as the heart attacks that were occurring on consumers of Ephedrine before it was removed from the market. Even prescription drugs have nasty side effects of all kinds. With weight loss hypnosis, the side effects are non-existent, and the treatment is completely safe.
Surgeries are extremely expensive, and not all medical plans cover weight loss surgeries. Scars can be left for life, and sometimes the surgeries go wrong. There are very specific reasons why doctors only recommend stomach stapling to the morbidly obese: Many things can go wrong when someone is under the knife and having organs worked on. But weight loss hypnosis is safe, it taps into the limitless power of the human brain to create the desired weight loss results.
Weight loss hypnosis involves no pills or surgery
Weight loss hypnosis is the use of hypnosis to change the way your brain thinks, the way it perceives things. Overeating is addictive for many people. It causes rushes and waves of euphoria, and makes the brain crave those waves.
But with the simple power of hypnotic suggestion, the waves of euphoria can be replaced with normal, proper feelings towards food. This creates weight loss by removing the addiction to eating and replacing it with normalcy. There are no side effects, no expensive drugs or surgery, no risks to your health. If you are overweight and looking for a solution, please consider weight loss hypnosis. It just might be the answer you are looking for.
